Wihan Phra Mongkol Bophit: Phra Mongkol Bophit, a large bronze cast Buddha image, was originally enshrined outside the grand palace to the east. King Songtham commanded it to be transferred to the west where it is currently enshrined and covered with the Mondop. During the 2nd fall of Ayuttaya, the building and the image were badly destroyed by fire. The one currently seen is a reconstruction.

The 16.95 metres high sitting Buddha is made from brick and plaster and covered with bronze 3-4 inches stick. The Buddha is 12.45 metres high and his lap is 9.55 metres wide.

She is putting some coins in the small bowl for people to buy. When we go to the temple, we put some coins into the small bowls like that kid is doing in the right picture. Some people only put it in the bowls below the Buddha image for the day they were born.
