Over the past 21 years I have traveled all around Thailand and I have seen some really great Thai festivals. I think I have seen all of the major festivals by now. Now I spend a lot of my time looking for the smaller festivals and events that most foreigners haven’t heard about. Below are some of my favourite festivals coming up.

  • February: Lantern Festival at Katanyu Foundation in Samut Prakan
  • February: Mini Light and Sound Show at Sukhothai Historical Park
  • February: Flora Festival at Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai
  • February: International Balloon Fiesta in Chiang Rai
  • February: Japanese Film Festival at SF World Cinema, CentralWorld, Bangkok
  • February: Ban Chiang World Heritage Festival
  • February: Old Phuket Town Festival 2016 at Queen Sirikit Park
  • February: Makha Bucha Day
  • February: Makha Puja Hae Pha Khuen That Festival in Nakhon Si Thammarat
  • TBC: King Rama II Memorial Festival in Samut Songkhram
  • Until March: Udon Thani’s Amazing Red Lotus Sea
  • TBC: Satun International Kite Festival
  • TBC: Ban Chiang World Heritage Festival
